Phil Astin Memorial Trophy
Following a successful launch in 2013 this Friday sees the return of a T20 Charity Cricket Match for the Phil Astin Memorial Trophy raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Such was the success of the 2013 event that many asked for a return and Friday’s event will again raise funds for MNDA
A slightly different format this year as running simultaneously to the T20 cricket will be ladies Rounders as “Lowerhouse Ladies” take on rivals “Hit & Miss”
The driver behind their challenge is Mark Rendell who sadly lost his mother Maureen to the disease in September 2010.For more information on MND please visit: www. mndaassociation.org.
Lowerhouse CC has again agreed to host the charity game which will take place on Friday 22nd August 2014 @: The Neville Gee (Recruitment) ground from 6.00pm
The game will be supported by a Live DJ Reece Whitehead with, BBQ and Lowerhouse’s Bar & Tea Room will be open throughout.
After the match a live band “The Badger Sett “
They play music from the 60’s and include two original members of the legendary “Marren 5”

“Having liaised over a number of week’s with Mark it’s fantastic to see his drive and ferocity in raising funds in memory of his mother Maureen.It’s fantastic to see many ex and current cricketer’s taking time out of their busy lives to support this charity event
It’s fitting that they also play for the Phil Astin Memorial Trophy. Cricket was Phil’s life long passion and I’m sure that he would be pleased to know that this year’s Trophy game will raise awareness and hopefully a substantial sum of money for a worthy cause
