Burnley through to the semi's. 

After a hard fought battle which certainly was a great advert for the towns cricket Burnley came out as victors in a match that had rain, sun, wind, rainbows and the Duckworth Lewis method involved. (And finished at 8.41pm!)

LancashireLeague.coms match report stated:

Burnley beat Lowerhouse by 2 wickets at the Brooks Foundation Ground to go through to the LCB Cup semi finals. In a rain reduced 43 overs a-side game Burnley had to chase 156 for victory on the Duckworth-Lewis method after Lowerhouse had made 146-7.

Jhangir Liaqat again proved to be the match winner, taking 4-18 and then hitting an unbeaten 11 to see Burnley to victory with 7 balls to spare. Chris Bleazard top scored with 33, skipper Charlie Cottam made 23, Ben Heap 22, Paddy Martin an unbeaten 16 and Joe Hawke 15 in the Lowerhouse innings.

Jon Finch (3-26) picked up the wickets of Vishal Tripathi (11), David Brown (12) and Mick Midwood (6) and Hawke removed Chris Burton (9) and Chris Holt after the Burnley professional had hit six fours in making 54. Lowerhouse professional Dieter Klein snapped up Michael Kelly and skipper Bharat Tripathi for 11 apiece as the tension mounted. Liaqat was joined by Tom Lawson who showed a cool head in making an unbeaten 13 in a match winning stand of 23 to see Burnley through to the last four. Burnley will travel to the winners of the Ormskirk – Denton West tie on Sunday August 21st.
